It has also been a big time advised that pregnant women should never ever smoke. If they smoke when they aren’t pregnant they should quit smoking when they are already pregnant. Second hand smoking can actually affect the baby as well. So a mother should either quit smoking and avoid second hand smoking.

Smoking is really very dangerous for your baby in many ways. In a house where there is a smoker, a baby has a higher risk for SIDS, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, it is a sudden, unexplained death of a baby. Aside from which, it can also caused asthma and allergies for the babies. When the baby grows older and reaches toddlerhood, he/she may also manifest lung problems like pneumonia and bronchitis.

When you baby is born and still you can’t stop smoking, always see to it that you are not really smoking in front of your baby. It is one thing for you to make a choice to breathe in the nicotine, your baby doesn’t have that kind of an option. Take all necessary and essential steps to keep your baby healthy and safe from your smoking habits.

Studies show that those women who smoke tend to gave birth to a baby with lesser weight and lower in size. For those mothers who are exposed to passive smoking, they are at greater risks also because they reduce oxygen supply to the unborn child. Developmental growth and birth weight are really some of the main problem a smoking mother will face soon as she will give birth.

Always be responsible with whatever you do. Always remember smoking is never good for you when you are pregnant and even in front of your baby. Smoking kills, anyone anytime.
